David Camba, founder of BIRDMIND, recognized with the 2026 Young Entrepreneur Award by AJE Galicia

The founder and CEO of BIRDMIND, David Camba, has been recognized with the 2026 Young Entrepreneur Award by AJE Galicia, one of the main accolades that honor entrepreneurial talent in the region.

The award ceremony took place at a gala held at the Military Arsenal in Ferrol, bringing together the most outstanding young business leaders in Galicia. This recognition comes just a few months after Camba was named Young Entrepreneur of the Year by AJE Pontevedra, further consolidating the trajectory of a Galician-born business project with an international vocation.

BIRDMIND is a company specialized in developing sustainable materials for architecture, interior design, and contract projects. Its most well-known innovation is Rice Tab, an eco-friendly and 100% circular panel made from rice husks, an agricultural by-product that the company transforms into an alternative to conventional wood-based panels.

The result of several years of research and development, Rice Tab combines design, high technical performance, and a zero water footprint production process, all without cutting down a single tree. The company has also expanded this innovation with Rice Tab Plus, which incorporates mussel shell powder — another local by-product — to achieve fire-resistant classification without chemical additives.

“AJE was a very important support during my first steps as an entrepreneur. I will always feel enormous gratitude toward the association, because they accompany, connect, and help turn ideas into real projects. Receiving this recognition today is something very special”.

With just over a year on the market, BIRDMIND has begun to establish itself in both national and international projects, especially in environments where sustainability and regulatory compliance are central to architectural design.

For the company, this recognition is an incentive to continue advancing its mission: demonstrating that waste can be transformed into high-value technical materials for architecture and design, fostering a new way of understanding the industry through the principles of the circular economy.
